Pavilion Payments funds research initiative for responsible gaming practices

Pavilion Payments， an omnichannel payments provider serving the gaming industry， has pledged its support to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG). 

The financial backing from Pavilion Payments will be directed towards a research initiative led by Dr. Michael J.A. Wohl， a researcher and professor at Carleton University in Ottawa. The objective of the initiative is to develop tools that foster responsible gambling practices.

The funded research will expand upon previous findings that suggest a preemptive limit option is more effective in reducing problem gaming than suggestion-based alternatives that occur part-way through gaming sessions.

The initiative encompasses two prospective studies and two experiments that aim to evaluate attitudes towards preemptive limit-setting tools， identify player characteristics and assess the real and perceived influence on behaviour. 

The research will also delve into the impact of incentivising the use of preemptive limit-setting tools， and leveraging access through loyalty programs and player-account data provided by operators.
